Web 2.0: Do Now May 18

If I can make this world a better place I would help to stop world hunger and help the homeless. I would like to do this because I believe no one should go a day without eating or without a place to call home. My life goal can help lots of people. I would fulfill this goal by first raising money and trying to get the word out there. Also, I would take trips to countries that are in need of help. I would help build houses and I’ll bring food to feed the people. I know this goal is ambition but if you never start somewhere it will never go anywhere.

Birds' Foldable Wings Could Inspire Nimble Drones

A drone that mimics the way birds fold and flap their wings could improve the design of future unmanned autonomous vehicles, and could even help the machines withstand midair collisions.
Most winged animals have a wrist joint that enables the tips of their wings to fold in, allowing the animals to tuck their wings when navigating in and around tight spaces. This also helps prevent injuries from accidental collisions with branches or other animals' wings, because it lessens the force of the impact as the wing bends inwards.

Furthermore, I would go to a hospital and people who are sick or are in need of any medical help. I would go to the children section of the hospital and bring them gifts. I would do any thing possible to make any ones day.

Web 2.0: Do Now Writing Prompt

Fashion is a way that an artist can express them self. Its a way for an artist to be able to get creative and make different types of fashion creations. Fashion can create fashion statement pieces that can be worn as a piece of art. Fashion is a type of art that requires creativity and knowledge. A class that I would add to our school curriculum that we don’t already have is a fashion class.

First, the fashion class would be part of the new school curriculum. The class would meet after school and it would be a two hour class. This class requires full dedication to the class. On some days if there are big projects to complete then the class can from five to eight hours. The students would learn about different types of branches in fashion. There would also be a sewing class. The students would also learn about the technical terms used in fashion, and they would learn the history of fashion. Also, they would learn about famous fashion designers. The student would have to learn different types of fabric that is used. The classroom environment would look classic and colorful. The students would produce their own clothing line and would produce a runway fashion show.

    Wiki Opinion

I would say before I saw the two videos that I was not that educated about what a wiki really is. I learned lots of information about what a wiki is. Also, I learned that everything that I was taught about a wiki was false. A wiki can be very useful and can be use to find out background in formation. It should be use as a foundation for a topic.

    Reflection

I agree with the 10 statements the Staten Island Advance selected as the best. The statement  I agree with the most is number six because someone is always looking at you. Even if its on social media. Some examples that are mentioned is employees and colleges. Also, people can use social media as a positive use. It does not always have to be negative. I personally don’t have a social media and I really don’t like it for me, but I think that social medias can be used in a positive way in the right hands.

New Semi Permanent Makeup - Pain Free At Last!

Semi-permanent makeup consists of implantation techniques that deposit spots of pigment into the upper dermis of the skin, using highly precise digital equipment with pharmaceutical-grade pigments in a wide range of colours. The pigments can also be blended to suit your colouring.
Eyebrows: Always opt for the hair stroke technique. This gradually builds up single hair strokes for a natural look rather than the old block method which looks hard and drawn on.
Eyes: Eye enhancement and eyeliner are great options if you want your lashes to look darker and thicker or want full-on smoldering eyes. Men can also benefit from the procedure with a special treatment called “Guyliner”.
Lips: You can also have amazing, fuller-looking lips by recreating symmetry or adding a hint of colour, ranging from the look of lip gloss to lipstick. Lip enhancements are a wonderful way of subtly replacing lost pigment, especially to the outer border of the lips where it most commonly fades as we age. The new technique of blending the pigment with your natural lip colour ensures there aren’t any harsh outlines.

Fraxel Is A New Effective Laser Skin Treatment

Laser resurfacing to minimize the appearance of acne scars has reached a new level with the Fraxel laser treatment.
The Fraxel laser treatment involves the use of low energy lasers that freshens the skin instead of simply resurfacing it which results in much less healing time before you get the face you were after.
Essentially the Fraxel laser gives the skin the energy to naturally replace scar tissue with collagen that helps even out the surface of the skin and reduces the amount of visibility of old acne scars.

    Web 2.0: Multimedia Blog Pre-Posting

    Henry David Thoreau

    Mark Twain
The first day of Junior year I was most excited to go to my english III class. I have heard great things about Mr.forman, so sophomore year I told my guidance concealer that I want Mr. Forman as my english teacher for next year. Im a very persistent person so I was not going to take no for an answer. I knew that I wanted to challenge myself, and I knew Mr.Forman was going to be able to deliver that. The first day of school I expected to learn great things, and a teacher to push me educational, but also as a person too. Well, this year I have learned immense things. I learn about historical documents and essays that changed America. Also, I learned about exquisite writers who has shaped what America is today. Some of these writes that I have learned about this year is Emerson, Thoreau, Dickinson,Whitman, and Twain. Most of all, I grew as a person, and I see things in a different light. I'm not as closed minded and more open to different ideas.

    Walt Whitman

Furthermore, Mr.forman has a strict but fair grading policy. He treats us like young adults. Which is very positive because in the real world there is no do overs. For example if a homework or project is due on a due date he expects his students to have it in by that day, and if not then you get the grade you deserve. In english class we use the chromebooks to do group projects, and to write essays. An interesting aspect of the class is that every lecture Mr. Forman gives you feel inspired to do something. When I leave his class I feel like a whole new person. When I do all his assignments I do it  with great pleasure because I know that I'm learning about something amazing, and I'm improving as a person as well.

Finally, I would recommend Mr. Forman class to anyone. He is one of the best teachers I ever had. Mr. Forman is one of a kind. He truly understand what true education is all about. I have never seen myself work as hard, and care as much about any class. I also know that I can even push myself more because I haven’t even reached my full potential. He is a teacher who truly loves to teach, and loves his job. I know this because the way he delivers a lesson with such great passion. I can go on and on about how an amazing teacher he is, but to truly know what I am talking it is one of those things in life that you have to see for yourself. I believe that anyone should find a time to get to know Mr. Froman, or to at least sit in one of his class lecture.

3D Printer Trends in the Fashion Industry

The possibilities for 3D printing are endless. And now, designers and fashion enthusiasts are jumping on the bandwagon. While fashion designers have been using 3D printed materials since 2010, their range has been limited until recently. 3D printed pieces are restricted to the materials that a machine can print with, and with this in mind, designers are often visually restricted in terms of what can be made. With 3D printers becoming more prevalent and affordable, it's truly the next frontier in fashion. Accompanied by 3D scanning technology, 3D printing can allow for the most incredible levels of personalization in fashion," Robinson said. "It's a new understanding of accessible haute couture."

    Color IQ

New technology in the makeup world! Sephora and Pantone teamed up to create a new product that matches skin color to the right shade of foundation. Even with training, it’s still difficult for the human eye to always accurately match the right foundation to skin color because of variables such as skin undertones and lighting. The product job is to  identify the color of a customer's skin in seconds, then finds the closest matches from a library of color palettes loaded into its memory. What this product does is that it takes three different different pictures of your neck, cheek, and forehead to provide the customers with the perfect shade. This is done because your skin pigment is not all the same all around. For example, your forehead can be a darker shade from your neck, and cheek. The color of the skin is then checked against the shades of 1,300 foundations Sephora carries to find the best matches. Capsure is even programmed so the data can be easily emailed to a customer so he or she can use the information for future purchases. The handheld device received a 2013 Technology award from Cosmetics Business, a Switzerland-based media company that operates several magazines and websites.
